    I know that this is NOTEBOOK REVIEW but I am in desperate need to fix a HP desktop for my uncle. He had a buddy of his work on it and he set the system back to a previous restore point. now my uncle cannot even use his internet for some reason. can anyone explain why?

    I suggest www.desktopreview.com for desktop questions.

    But anyway, sounds like he needs to install drivers.

    If you have a DRiver disk from HP, use it. Is not go to device manager, and look for a network (ethernet) card. It will probably have an alert for it. See the product # and google drivers for it or post on here.

    Well, it wasnt drivers and I couldnt get it to recieve its own ping :/
    I kept gettting general failure from
    PING LOCALHOST
    I guess he got it fixed now .. the LSP's were locked. I have no idea what that is
