Charge any way u want, no worries there.
Don't ask me how to keep it looking new, here's why http://www.notebookreview.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=3420
Leave your notebook on as long as you want. If it overheats, it's the manufacturer's fault.[8D] Really, you should not have a problem, but do give it a rest every once in a while.

That's a good question actually, I'm a clean freak and love to keep my notebook in "new" condition, but darn it, I use my notebook so much that the letters on keys wear off, I smooth out the space bar with my thumb and it's just obvious the thing has been used. What I do to keep it somewhat clean is have an air can blaster to blow off dust from the keyboard and other crud that accumulates. Try not to have food nearby, it'll get in the keyboard and be impossible to get out -- I tend to snack and fiddle around on the web at the same time so I end up losing that battle! Keep the screen clean with a static free cloth, don't use any cleaning solutions that'll ruin the LCD.

Oh, and don't take a pen and mark all over your notebook lid or draw symbols on it...that'll bring down the value right-away [ ;)] ahhem.

You could always put a plastic cover over it all the time, like those old ladies have on their couches LOL [ :D] Not very comfortable to sit on, but then, you hopefully won't be sitting on your laptop.
No, really, air duster is great to keep bits and crumbs out of the keyboard. For the screen, they make these special little laptop screen brushes. They look like a mini squeegee, with very soft bristles on the end. The brush part is about 2 or 3 inches across. I actually got one free at the Windows XP launch at Moscone Center, but they are only a couple/few bucks, from what I understand. Also, make sure that your laptop slides in and out of the laptop bag with plenty of clearance for the zippers. I know a couple people who are getting the lids scratched up, because they got a new (bigger) lappy, and they didn't want to put out a few bucks for a new bag, so they are trying to stuff it into their old bag and the zippers rub the lid - thus the scratches. I think the rest is pretty much just common sense and not being in a rush while picking up, moving, or handling the laptop.

    Cheers,

    Stevo
