How do you clean the grill on your laptop? It's an Asus G51 laptop.

The dust seems to collect on the grill next to my keyboard where the power button is and the symbols for caps lock are.

I tried a vacuum and a damp towel.

Any ideas? Can I some how take it off?

    Canned air.
Make sure the laptop is off, blow it through the fan intake. Sometimes I'll blow into the exhaust first to loosen it up, then go through the intake to blow it all out.

just be careful not to spin the fan too fast with the compressed air, you don't want to do it for long periods of time as it could damage the fan bearings.

Hey thanks guys for answering, but I'm not talking about the grill where my speakers are. It has very small holes and you can't push the air through in most of the areas.

It's the Asus G51 for it's on top of the computer.

tried using a paint brush with short bristles? Could always buy a cheapy one and cut them down so its subbier and jam that in there.

Also try tooth picks carefully, or a mechanical pencil with the lead sticking out a few clicks.

    Good luck!

ebay canned air, should be dirt cheap to buy, but be careful in which way through the notebook you spray it, the wrong way and it will push the dust and belly button fluff further in

He's not talking about an actual grille, he's talking about the fake-grille looking plastic that for some reason on laptops like the G51 and the Studio XPS line somebody thought was genius to put in there. What it ends up being is a huge pain to clean because all sorts of crap gets stuck down in the little millimeter or whatever deep holes that don't actually do anything. I would've preferred flat plastic!

I'm going to try that tape idea, sounds really good actually!
