How can I access my wi-fi card on a Clevo W370? I tried to open half the back of it, but I were unable to see it. That leaves me with two scenarios.

    1. Open the whole body
    2. Open keyboard / speakers to see if it’s located there.

    In advance, thanks!

    EDIT:

What the h***, I tried myself and it was done within 10 mins. Let me know if anybody wants some pictures during the process.

    Hi,

Would you mind sharing that information ? I just bought a new Clevo w370ET with Killer Wireless-n 1102, but this is not compatible under Ubuntu 12.04. Lot's of drop connections and I want to get something else and substitute it myself, even though the computer is new and under warranty (I had to wait 4 weeks for it, don't want to wait more).

    Thanks for looking!

The killer is actually an Atheros chip in disguise, but i suppose you already tried using Atheros drivers?

Yeah, was installed with ath9k drivers, for Atheros.

I tried lots of different things found on forums (12.04), it's not stable, so I'm going to get a new wireless card and replace it myself. I just don't know how to access the wireless on this machine.

I haven't seen the wireless card on the bottom part of the board, so i assume its on the top part of the board with the 3rd ram slot. like the p series.

It shouldn't be hard, just remove the keyboard and the top part of the chassis.

To help you keep track of the screw draw a small schematic with the skrew holes and place the skrews as you take them off.

I did it before on the p series, just do it calmly

I don't know if you have managed yet, but if you haven't it is under the KB, with a credit card like object, simply remove carefully the plastic above the Speakers, its empty underneath.

That will allow you to unscrew the Keyboard, and give you right access to the wireless and 3rd ram slot.
