    Hello,

    Here is my situation --

I am going to be receiving my new ASUS laptop here in a couple of days and if I'm not mistaken, ASUS does not include a Windows 7 Installation disk. I am going to be upgrading the default hard drive to an aftermarket 80gb SSD.

Does anyone mind giving me instructions on how to successfully install Windows 7 onto my SSD once it's installed in my laptop? Should I format the original drive first? Thanks!

    Brett

I'm sorry, let me rephrase the question.

Can I use the recovery disk I'm going to make from the recovery partition and use that to install Windows 7 onto a new hard drive?

Install your SSD. Put in your recovery DVD. Turn on computer. Follow the directions.
