    How do I find out if my laptop hard drive is 5400rpm or 7200rpm?

    1.look at the manufacturers website

    or 2.get the model of the hard drive (in device manager) and search it on google.

    as a last (or first) resort, you could just open up the laptop and look :D

    Oftentimes, the spindle speed is written on the hard drive itself as well.

    Finding the mdoel in Device manager and Google-ing it worked..thanks.

    also check out hdtune, it will tell you the model and all that usually you can tell from that alone and then from there you can benchmark its speed or often see the temp its running at. Nice little free program.
