    Hi Everyone,

I just received my HP dv6000t laptop yesterday. It has a Core 2 Duo 1.83 ghz processor.

One question: I have noticed a very highpitched ringing sound that is coming from inside the unit? It doesn't seem to happen all the time, and interestingly only happens when no applications are running. I'll hear the noise, and then as soon as I run a program and the processor begins working, it stops. Could this be a potential problem?

This seems to be a pretty common problem with the Core 2 Duo processors, when they are idle they make a high pitched buzzing sound. The solution that works for most people is to install RMClock and check "Run HLT Command when OS is idle"
