    Hi,
I would like to upgrade my laptop (specs in sig).
Since my memory is shared, how much actual memory will be available if I put 4 GB in?

Could someone show me where to buy the right modules?
    Thanks!

Thank you for the fast reply. And yes I did see that thread, I just thought my laptop might be slightly different or something.

On another note, you can't upgrade the processor, can you?

Edit: Is the RAM hard to install?

A Vostro 1510 is a Vostro 1510. The upgradeable parts on all Vostro 1510 are the same. You can upgrade the processor. You can use any Socket P processor with an 800MHz FSB or less. Neither memory or processor are particularly difficult to replace, given that you follow Dell's instructions:

Be warned, you upgrade your processor, your warranty is void.
