I hope I'm in the right place for this post. I am software savvy, but not hardware at all. I need to know what I have to buy to be able to hook up my G50vt-X1 (not quite a year old and as bought with nothing else added or changed - running Vista) to my HD 1080p Sanyo 42" TV. I need detailed steps, cause I'm really unfamiliar with this stuff. Do I just need a cable? If so, what cable do I need so I can order it. I'd like it to be at least 10 ft. Do I then just hook it up to the TV and computer and it works or do I have to set something up in the computer? I want to use it to watch HD TV on my Sanyo through my computer and use HULU or something similar to get rid of satellite TV. Any help you can give me would be very much appreciated. I am sorry if I am in the wrong place. If so, please let me know what thread to get on for this info.

All you need is an HDMI cable. The you can connect the laptop to the TV, and you will be able to watch Full HD content.

Just wanted to chime in and say that HDMI cables run from 3 dollars to 75 dollars. Don't get screwed buying a cable. I'm not saying buy the cheapest HDMI cable you can possibly find, just that if you only spend 15 bucks your probably not going to notice the difference. Dont let them sucker you in to some 75 dollar cable.

Oh yes, and DO NOT buy an HDMI cable made by a company could "Monster Cable". They aren't worth the plastic they are packaged in.

i spend about 10 pounds on my HDMI cable and the quality is good.. just get one which is about $15.... don't need the $99 ones... little or no difference...just make sure the electrical insulation is great and don't get ones from monster company...like shadow said... all they have is plastic...
