Hi, this damn laptop that purchased some months ago is giving me Hard Drive failure notices at boot and has crashed alot since. I need a replace it with something else, I contacted the company i bought it for but they haven't replied yet. if they don't cover the repair, i'm planning on purchasing one myself and installing it asap.
I found this at newegg http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822152024 will it work with the Hel80? Or if you guys have something better to suggest, please do. something reliable atleast 100GB and not too expensive please.

That drive is parallel ATA, and the HEL80 requires a serial ATA. I just accidently broke the hdd in my HEL80, so I'm in the market too. Glad to see HDD prices have dropped since last time I looked.

Yup. That's what the original is, at least, my original. I don't know whether the hardware can take advantage of the faster sata type or not, but sata150 will certainly work.

If your notebook is only a few months old, then it should be replaced under warranty. Odd that they haven't contacted you back. Try calling them directly and demand to speak with someone on the topic. Tell them you need repairs imemdiately, and if necessary will buy another drive and submit the bill to them.

I just called them, they told me to send them the drive and they will send me a new one. But I still want the 7200 RPM over the 5400 that came with mines. So, I think I will order this and still get a replacement from them which then I will either sell or give it to my brother.

Perhaps they would be willing to let you upgrade if you pay the difference? It might be worth asking so that you don't have to deal with having an extra HDD to deal with.
