I was using my laptop and it gave off the "do-ding" sound that is given off when you remove a USB device, such as a flash drive.

When it happened, I didn't have any external device connected. I was typing something, then suddenly, I heard the do-ding sound.

What might that be and anyone experienced this before?

Was it a one-time occurrence? Does it happen repeatedly?

If it just happened once, I'll be it's just Windows doing something dumb, and nothing to get excited about...

You could turn off system sounds, that would stop "ding" noise. LOL

It happened a few times. ChristopherAKAO4, you missed my point. That doesn't solve whatever's causing it.

Mine sometimes does that a long long time after a usb device has been removed, it's usually just windows being dumb.
