one of my hard drive seems to have failed on me. it only boots up to safemode/normal selection menu then keeps restarting whenever i select any of the options. is there a way to fix this? and is there a way to retrieve the files?

Throw it in a usb case to see if you can get the files off. You might want to try to run HD Tune on it.

if you know the manufacture of you hdd, run a hdd diagnostic program.

    HDD diagnostic and utilties

And take Zaz advice and backup your data(at least your important files ect)

some diagnostic tools work without the need to boot into windows. is this drive the drive that has Windows installed? if so then id suggest using one of your other drives for windows and backup that way.
