After looking through the bios of this rig I've found a setting to enable HPET (High Performance Event Timer) in Windows XP only. I've looked around to see what exactly this is and it looks to be a driver enhancement first introduced in XP. So, since I'm running XP I figure it should be enabled. Therefore I am attempting to enable it and when I do, it askes for it's "base address." Is anyone familiar with what HPET really is, if I should be fooling with it (I'm a fool), and if so, what address should I select? Thanks for any guidance.
