    Hello Folks

    Great Forum & Site.

I have an almost 18month old HP nx7010 notebook. HP is meant to be a reputable reliable brand, but, alas, not in South Africa.

This notebook is used daily. Moderate travel and no abuse from my side (apart from verbal!). It lives on its advanced port replicator, unless it is out of the office.

To date, this notebook has had 3 motherboards replaced (this is the 4th), RAM replaced, hard drive replaced, modem+bluetooth card replaced all under warranty. The CD-DVD Combo drive is now on its way out and I was wondering if ANYONE out there knows of ANY company that may assist me in optaining replacement parts / upgrades here in South Africa... OR... may offer alternative advice for keeping this lemon running?

Hewlett Packard here are useless. I have speant 3 months chasing my tail trying to get ANY HP assistance / information.
Their authorised repair / upgrade company here (ICSS) is useless and are NO help whatsoever. I fear that THEY are 80% of the problem regarding failing components. I would rather NOT have to deal with them again.

I am looking at replacing the ComboDrive with a DVD Burner as well as looking at CPU upgrade options, going from a s479 1.8Ghz to 2.0Ghz... also trying to find multibay hdd adapters for the advanced port replicator!

So, anyone, out there, who can help this extremely frustrated HP owner... drop me a line...

    Thanks in advance...
