    Original Specs: Product Specifications HP Pavilion dv6958se Entertainment Notebook PC - HP Customer Care (United States - English)

    core 2 duo t5750 2.0 Ghz
    3GB ram @ 667 Mhz
    Blu-ray player w/ hdmi
    Nvidia 8400M GS
    250GB hdd
    Purchased 2008 4th Quarter $1300 from Best Buy Canada

    upgrading to:
    core2 duo T8300 @2.4 Ghz($99.00, ebay) or T9300 @2.53 Ghz ($174.9,ebay)
    4GB @800 Mhz memory crucial CT2KIT25664AC800 ($91.99)

    The only problem is that im not sure if the memory is compatible with my laptop PM965 chipset

    RAM will work.. DDR2-800 RAM will automatically downclock to 667MHz.. Also i suggest you spend less on upgrading as seriously there won't be much difference and spending so much on an old notebook.. i suggest you get T8300... and get 4GB of RAM but get cheaper brand than crucial like Gskill because RAM is RAM.. no difference in between brands.

    Some PM965 will support 8 GB RAM, some will not. I know my Vostro 1500 PM965 does not but the 17" version of my notebook does. You might want to see if you can get answers in the HP subsection.
