I'm looking at the dv 9000t but really could use 3 to 4 gigs of ram. Is it possible to add this much RAM to it? If not, do you see a time when HP will make over 2 gigs of RAM an option?

If it's DDR2, and your notebook supports it, then you can buy two 2GB PC 5300 ram sticks. These do however cost ALOT, usually about 380$-500$ per 2GB stick.

Pray tell what could you use 3-4 GB of memory for? If you need that kind of power you shouldn't be looking at laptops.

If the mobo can even support 4GB (i'm not sure if it can/cannot) 2GB sodimms are terribly expensive and hard to find.

I don't see HP adding this as an option in the near future simply because of the tiny market share and obscene cost of memory.

Ditto. If you need a laptop with 3-4GB of RAM, get a desktop.

I need a laptop that I can edit video on (when I'm at work or "on the go") and need something that wont take forever rendering files.
