    Hi there,

I bought a HP Pavilion Dv6 2165tx with so much interest and its been 2weeks and my Esc Key just pops out, while pushing it back in it just breaks off (ESC Key).... I was so disappointed when such a thing happened its not even been a month of usage. Where I've gone through many reviews on the internet regarding such an

issue, but they've stated that its been 1year or 2years...etc. Its just been 2weeks since I bought my laptop.

When taking it to the service center here in Bangalore - India, they tell me thats its a physical damage and we'll need to send a Quotation to HP requesting a Whole New Keyboard "thats insane"

Btw the cost of the laptop here was about Rs. 50k that comes about $1100 and such a waste....

The service here in India - Bangalore of HP is really 5% rating if you'd ask me to rate. The in-charge there at Maha Electronics was a person who dint even want to listen to my talk about what happened to the keyboard. Though there are 3 more keys that shake and might come off too... After recieving the quotation

it comes to Rs. 3638/- thats $80. Just becase my ESC key was broken off....Was not something that I ever expected before purchasing HP's Laptops....

    :(

u should get it done for free under the warranty... because this should be covered.. i'd call hp service centre and try arguing with them... i don't see how they can't replace the keyboard for free if u got warranty.. worse comes to worst , u can buy the keyboard online or from hp spare parts store and install it urself.. after all the keyboard will cost $20-30...

    thanks for the quick response..

well yes, you're right must be included in the warranty though its just been a few weeks... but they tell me its a Physical Damage !

I'm just using an external Keyboard right now, leaving my Laptop's keyboard untouched...like its a 4year old laptop ..

do you think if I glue the Esc key ..would it be any problem while changing the whole keyboard in future... ?
