I have an hp dv9612ca but the screen was smashed.

I was looking for a new laptop to buy instead of repairing mine. My brother bought a dv7-1245ca and I noticed the screen is completely different. HP says its the same but the colors are totally different, not bright enough.

I really like the dv7-2044ca but I'm afraid the screen will also be too dark.

I guess what I want to know is if the dv7-2044ca screen is the same as my dv9612ca screen.

    Thanks
