    HP DV4275 NR Laptop DVD/CD Rom is not detecting..

    Hello,

    I am having HP laptop Pavillion DV4275 NR which has DL DVD±RW/CD-RW drive
    its not detecting when i insert the CD its not detecting.

    It works occasionally, Can any one help me figure out the issue.

    It works occasionally. Any work around or fix? I contacted HP they are charging more for which i can buy a new laptop :)

    buy a new drive from a 3rd party and install it your self and what pc do u have exactly

    HP DV4275 NR Laptop, i checked out all my CD's only a few fails. other get dectected and works fine.

    how old is it cause the lense could be getting weak and be only able to read new cds

    2 years old, I bought this in Nov 2005 from best buy. I have not used this DL DVD DL drive much.

    I have used mainly for installing software.
