I have just inherited a HP 6735s from my step-son who's son knocked the laptop off the arm of a sofa when charging around the house.

It powers up and loads the OS as it should - the only problem is the screen does not display unless the screen unit is twisted to a certain point. I took the screen bezel apart to check the connector on the screen hadn't been jolted loose but it seems secure.

I managed to hook it up to my tv and initiate the external screen output and the laptop is running fine on that - apart from the fan running constantly!! :err:

I'm looking at a couple on Ebay as I already have a Toshiba Satellite C660, I would like to keep costs as low as possible.

The one i'm thinking of is a complete unit including the bezels which include the webcam.

Only thing is the laptop I have doesn't have a webcam...

If I got the complete assembly and fitted it, could I plug the webcam into the existing motherboard and get the driver for it
Or would it be a case of just using the screen out of it if it is the same screen as my existing one?

    Hi, welcome to the forums.

The presence of a webcam in the replacement screen should be immaterial; the lid design, screen and connections should all be the same. I'm in agreement that it's a good idea to get the whole package e.g. bezel and all. Taking apart the lid on a notebook is an unpleasant task.

Out of curiosity, what is the replacement screen going for?
