This has come with 2Gb memory (I assume in one slot). This a 32bit OS Vista business. I would like to increase ram. It says in the spec max 8Gb. Could I get 1 4Gb one for now for the extra slot to give 6Gb?

I would want to upgrade further to 8Gb when the cost comes down. Memory is 800Mhz 200pin PC-6400 SO DIMM.

yes you can, assuming the other stick is 2GB. but your OS can only use ~3.2GB of ram. If you update to a 64Bit OS you can use all 6GB.

How do I check if this laptop can run 64bit OS? Is everything compatible?
