    Hello all,

I have owned a Fujitsu S6120 for over four years. I am extremelly happy with it. However, recently I have needed to use wireless networks often and the notebook's wireless range is very low. I would like to upgrade it.

The card currently on the S6120 is a 802.11 something with a 11 Mbps speed (I think it's 802.11a or 802.11b or something). I know that there are cards with a 54 Mbps speed, but I am more interested in RANGE than speed itself.

    I would like some advice:

    - Has anyone ever done this upgrade on the S6120? If yes, does it improve the range of the wireless connectivity or only it's speed?
    - Those of you that have done this upgrade on other notebooks, does it improve the range or just the speed?
    - What brand/model Wi-Fi card should I buy?
    - What is the typical price of one such card?

    Thanks in advance!

I think PCMCIA cards are very cheap ($10 to $20) and have better range. Yes the newer #'s have better range but the external are better above and beyound.
