    HDMI and DP motherboard/system dependability for newer revisions

    So I have looked at a lot of schematics and most of them have almost completely pass-through design. What I hope that means is - when you put a newer MXM GPU that supports latest HDMI/DP standard it is quite possible that it would output the new higher resolution (e.g. 4K). Am I right, or I'm missing something?
