    Hi
I have just bought M100 laptop for 2 week
At first time, the sound of hdd is soft,i almost can't hear anything when idle
but now the sound is always noise whenever idle or fullload.I tried to turn of most of hard-working app such as Lime-Wire,flashget,WMP.... but the result is not changed. What should i do

I know that using windows means hdd must be run. However, running so noisy is unacceptable, especially brand new hdd like that,my pc Samsung hdd even run soft than this

What make / model of HDD? - Device Manager will give this info. Some manufacturers have utilities where you can balance noise with performance.

    Yes, it is Hitachi.

I suggest you try the Feature Tool here to adjust the acoustic management.

What defrag program do you use? some defrag programs run in the background by default and they tend to make all these noises when running, like diskeeper.

You can use this iso file to create a bootable CD of Feature Tool.
