I wouldnt say its a problem really.

    trying to do 160 >> 320

My brother's 1521 is giving me problems with cloning the disc,
Im using acronis and when i go to clone i want to do manual.

When i do auto it makes the recovery partition a ridiculous 150gb instead of the original 10.
When i go to manual i can shrink the recovery down to 10gbs but when i go to manually layout the c drive, it doesnt allow me to expand it past the 135gb (which is what the size of the partition is on the 160gb hdd)

I went and did the clone and popped it in. Everything works but there is now 130gbs of unallocated space and i cant expand the c drive!

when i try to create a new partition it says not enough space.

I dont want to have to reinstall all his school stuff so a fresh install .

Short version, I want to clone but expand the c drive partition.

Your partition is FAT32 ? If yes then convert it to NTFS, after resize to full disk capacity.

Then try use the Hirens Boot CD, with it you can create a new NTFS Partition, after reboot, and in your OS try merge the partitions ...

You seem to have hit the 137GB limit.

See this document for the explanation of various factors.

I don't think you can clone just the program files folder. The installers tend to scatter files in other locations and also make entries into the registry.
