I've got a WD External HDD and for some reason it's not showing up in my computer..

It makes the sound that it's been connected, and even shows in the device manager that it's working properly.

But doesn't come up as a HDD or anything.

Anyone ever have a problem like this before?

In Device Manager > Disk manager, does the HDD (partition) have a drive letter assigned to it ? If not, you can manually assign a drive letter.
It should happen automatically, but something might have gone wrong ......

I found the HDD in disk management..

    It says: 120 gig "Unallocated"

Doesn't come up in the top list and won't let me do anything with it?

    Any ideas?

Unallocated means Windows can’t read the partition table. This could mean a partition table corruption, a disk failure or a USB enclosure/cable problem. If it is due to data corruption, then you may have to use a disk repair tool like TestDisk or EasyRecovery, maybe others can suggest better alternatives. If the disk is physically damaged then recovering data is going to be difficult. If the controller is faulty then you have to buy a new one.

Have you read the answer above your post? Does it have a letter asigned to it?

Is it the first time you plug it in? - Do you have anything of value on the disk?
