    Hi there,
I have a Toshiba Satellite A205-S7464 with intel integrated x3100 graphics. The laptop itself is great but obviously the graphics aren't the best for most modern games.

I was wondering if it was at all in any way possible to upgrade this? I have seen a range of different answers with some saying you can and others saying you can't and was a little confused and so thought it best to seek some advice for myself.

Thanks in advance for any help

    No, read the stickies...

Basically for any consumer laptop, you CANNOT upgrade the GPU (graphics processing unit).

There is an exception with some companies offering a GPU type card, using MXM technology, or something of the sort. Those are the ones where a dedicated mobile graphics card can be swapped in and out of a specific laptop. Those laptops are not very common though. In general, a buyer is stuck with the graphics that the laptop came equipped with. Whether it's integrated or discrete, make sure you buy a laptop knowing what you need/want, and which laptop comes equipped with your needs/wants. Don't go in and blindly buy a laptop thinking its great at the moment, only to actually be disappointed for buying one without the specs to satisfy yourself. Good Luck!

I believe you can upgrade the graphics in the X205, but I am not 100% sure with the A205.
I will have to look it up

    EDIT:
Here is a picture of the motherboard in your laptop:
    http://www.excelcomputerinc.com/partpicture_EX.asp?ref=1571&category=boards

As you can see, there is no Toshiba Proprietary video card slot on the motherboard.
Tus you cannot upgrade the graphics.
    Sorry man.

If you have an integrated card, then you are 100% out of luck.

Some laptops that originally come with dedicated cards can be upgraded, but not ones that have an integrated card.
