    Want to buy 2 X 2GB ram sticks, dell only says e1705 can handle 2, it can in fact handle 4, (found out in these forums). I know xp and vista 32 bit can only allow 3gb to be recognized but I was gonna buy 4 (2X2GB) just to keep it dual channel. Does this look like it will work in it?

    yea it looks good, the way you intersperse terms becomes confusing but the stick looks very nice!!!

    Looks right to me!!

    I have a Dell XPS M1710, very similar to your model. I have windows Vista Home Premium with 4GB RAM, and you're right, the 32bit OS only displays 3.326GB of RAM.

    Dell is confused about what Intel chipsets can offer...... :D
    Inspiron e1705 would most probably have a PM945 chipset and it can take in 2 modules of 2GB each...
