My question is this....Its clear that the cpu for the Gateway p-6831fx is weak...so having said that I am going to upgrade...my question is for those who have allready upgraded their cpu....what chip did you buy and how did you go about doing it? Did you put it in yourself or did you have gateway do it?...I am familier with desktop builds but this would be my first laptop cpu upgrade....Advice please?????

That's issue is because 32 bit Vista can only see and use 3+GB of RAM. Vista SP1 will be able to see all 4 GB, but is also unable to use it as well.

Check out the Gateway section of the forums.
