    Im Planning To Upgrade My CPU To Intel Core 2 Duo T7200 @ 2GHz/667MHz FSB Socket 479 Merom L2 4MB Cache Is It Compatible With My Laptop?

    Here Are My Laptop Specs:

    Gateway MT6826J
    Intel Core 2 Duo T5500 @ 1.67 GHz/667Mhz FSB L2 2MB Socket 479 mPGA Merom
    2GB DDR2 (I Upgrade My Memory Already Default Of 1GB)
    Intel 945GM Graphics Accelerator

    Is The CPU Im Planning To Buy Compatible With My Laptop?

    anyway how bout with a 800MHz FSB core 2 duo is it comptable? like T7500 core 2 duo is it compatible?

    Shouldn't be any heat problems, the new processors won't fit.

    Yeh it wnt fit , and on my t7200 i get extrmly low heats somtimes speedfan can report as low as 5 degress celius per core but then as a dell indicated temperature more like 22 degress... i belive the dell report but still.. its nice.

    even if it has the same socket? just wanna double check before i buy i know it wont fit ^_~ thanx for the help guys..

    Take a look at the CPU Guide. The 7200 is socket M. The 7500 is socket P.

    The T7200 would almost certainly be the most power per performance upgrade for you CPU, yes. Theoretically you could put in a T7400 or T7600, but it would probably be cost prohibited.
