    Greetings to all,

I mentioned this in the Gaming forum, but figure this concerns anyone looking to purchase this laptop. The specs for this Gateway model call for the Intel Duo Core T2060, which is a 1.6 ghz with only 1meg of L2 cache.
The MT3705 I purchased at Best Buy 2 weeks ago contains not the T2060, but the Intel T2250, which runs at 1.73 ghz and has a full 2meg of L2 cache. Another person on this website also stated he got the upgraded chip in his MT3705 from Best Buy, although the MT3705 I bought 2 weeks prior for my daughter did have the stated T2060 inside.

Hope this helps anyone thinking of purchasing this model.

    Hello,

It is very interesting because I purchased that same laptop (The Gateway MT3705) from a seller at Ebay this past March 18th 2007 that clearly stated on the description, that I was going to get the T2060 processor. When I received the box 3 days later, the label outside the box say T2060. I later turned on the computer, registered it with my name and saw the system information that says that I have the T2250 processor... What is going on? Why this confusion? Should I go by what the computer system information says or what I was expecting? I know that I'm getting more than what I was expecting, but should I trust it? Please reply.

    THanks.

My suggestion would be to use another program to identify the processor. It may just be that the system is not recognising the processor correctly. Use a program like CPU-Z to see which processor is installed.

Zero's suggestion is good, try CPU-Z:
    http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php

You can tell if it's the T2060 because it will have a 1.6GHz clockspeed and a 1MB L2 cache.

Just thought I'd post a follow-up in this thread. I used CPU-Z on my MT3705 and it confirmed what Windows (and RMClock) say - my notebook has a T2250 in it, not the processor specified on the outside of the box, the T2060. Hurray for free, unexpected upgrades. :)
