I have a GTX 285M and it runs GREAT most the time, but sometimes when playing Crysis 2 it glitches for a second and then all of sudden my framerates drop to about 1 third of what they should be I go from 45-60fps to 15-20 and stays there... And the weird thing is after I exit the game it still happens - unless I reboot. This happened in the demo, but I figured it was a bug. It is happening in the Game now too.

Is the card de-rating somehow? how can I fix it besides a reboot? My temps are fine - hottest it ever gets is 74c when overclocked heavily (700/1100/1725). I noticed it WILL stop doing this when I return the GPUs to stock clocks, but this happens in no other game with my OC settings.

Using the newest drivers 267.24 Beta, but it also happens with 266.58

Does it only happen in Crysis? What about other games?

If you have issues with Crysis 2 it maybe with the game and your GPU. I played the demo for Crysis 2 on my 6970 2 GB no issues (desktop card though).

Do you have another computer to test Crysis 2 on?

It is caused by your overclock. It is the same for me, never crashes in GTA IV, but you won't be able to play CoD black ops before it does. Hope you get the picture, just give another clocks a try.

Ya I tried a bunch but none worked. I just dont get why the OC works in 10 other games stable, but not CRY2

    Then don't use OC :D

It is the same for me actully, while playing GTA IV, everything is fine, I'm not able to play CoD without crash with same clocks.

Just lower you OC. Shouldn't be a problem.
