    Yeah the G.Skill has been at $170 for a while (almost a month).

    The cost-cutting may come out to be evident in the memory chips' performance. (maybe !!)
    Dunno which memory chips are used by G.Skill --> Samsung, Hyundai, SEC ? Definitely not Micron !!
    But the G.Skill is still a steal !!
