This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Long POST, windows and a 16char password login is what I was timing.

    Thanks! Boots and shuts down pretty fast. If I did fast post and no password I would see a lot faster booting. But for now I can barely blink and I'm in windows as well as all applications from ms office and browsers to visual studio and Autodesk MEP open instantly and I mean instantly.

    Was it worth it? Hell yeah. Do I have the fastest boot times? No, but I wasn't going for the record boot time, just snappier application opening and the ability to maximize my space without losing the optical drive. Mission accomplished.
