I really wanna speed up my OS drive, so I'm thinking 16GB - 64GB Expresscard SSD in my N10 and have a 500GB Momentus for storage and apps.

Is there really fast Expresscard SSDs out there? I'm looking at something faster than 120MB/sec read.

This option isn't worth it due to high price:

    http://conics.net/catalog/product_info.php?currency=USD&products_id=548
    IO DATA PCI Express 34 slot SSD 120/40 [64GB] - $274.00USD
    model: EXC-64G
    capacity: 64GB
    speed: 120GB/sec max read
    40MB/sec max write
    current drain: 700mA(max)
    dimensions: 34 x 74 x 5mm
    weight: 21g
    interface: ExpressCard 34
    voltage: 3.3V
    opp. temp: 0~35 degrees C
    humidity: 10~90%
    warranty: 1 year
    RoHS compliant
    some benchmarks:
    Sony VGN-TZ91
    Sequential Read : 117.272 MB/s
    Sequential Write : 35.690 MB/s
    Random Read 512KB : 105.168 MB/s
    Random Write 512KB : 4.908 MB/s
    Random Read 4KB : 6.698 MB/s
    Random Write 4KB : 0.033 MB/s
    Test Size : 100 MB
    SONY VAIO VGN-TT71JB
    Read : 112.78 MB/s
    Write : 31.20 MB/s
    Random Read512K : 97.95 MB/s
    Random Write512K : 13.02 MB/s
    Random Read 64K : 52.18 MB/s
    Random Write 64K : 3.28 MB/s
    Test Size : 100 MB

Here's another option (still, performance isn't what I want):

Man, read overheating issues with FILEMATE SSDs everywhere. Though the price is ok. :(

I'm ready to pay more for faster read speeds.

You really shouldn't give much weight to the sequential read speeds of these drives. You will rarely hit those speeds, even if it's a relatively low 120MB/s; you should be worrying about random read and write speeds (especially the latter) in which regard I don't think any ExpressCard SSD is terribly good yet...

So to answer the question, no, I don't think there is a very fast ExpressCard SSD out yet (although the SSD gurus out there can feel free to prove me wrong :))

    That's the answer I didn't wanna get. :(
