    Fan not turning on under Vista very often

    Hi all, I have a sony FE 590, Ive noticed since I installed Vista my notebook fan only turns on around 60C whereas under XP it would turn on around 45C, Is there anyway I can change this to turn the fan back on at 45C? Its become very uncomfortable with it getting so hot.

    Try NHC or SpeedFan
    these two should allow you to set the fan to kick on at your desired temps.

    NHC dosent work under Vista currently, Speedfan shows temperatures but no fan sensors or controls currently under vista. I tried both prior to posting.

    I did a search for I8K, I got a number of hits, All for Linux kernals for dell laptops.

    there should be one for XP and maybe Vista but Im not sure about Vista
