I spilled a few drops of water on my external hard drive and, without thinking, unplugged it immediately so I could dry it, etc. Totally panicked and forgot to safely remove the device. Now Windows (XP) recognizes that the hard drive is connected, but it won't show up in "My Computer" at all. I'm a photographer and all of my files are on this hard drive..... I'm in desperation. PLEASE HELP ASAP!!

Go in Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Computer Management -> Disk Management -> Check if the drive partition is shown.
