Hey, I have a Dell XPS M1530, and would like an external monitor... i've connected my laptop to my tv and done the whole dual screen thing. But i dont like it as the screens are different sizes and it looks a bit odd... so... I was wondering if anyone could recommend and external monitors (the thinner the screen, the better!) also I was wondering if could i buy 2 of the same screens and mount them to the wall which are somehow connected to my laptop and not to use my laptop screen, just shut te lid of my laptop and use and external mouse and keyboard?
I know what people are going to say... "buy a desktop PC" but i do move around the house quite a bit, so when im in my room i'd have a desktop kind of setup and obviously when in around the house, have a laptop setup!
    Any help is much appreciated!

I don't think it is a great idea to shut the lid of your laptop while in use. It might cause increase in temperature and it might harm the laptop's monitor. (due to the heat striking the monitor from such a close range)

I was also wondering about closing the screen. I am thinking of moving to laptop only and I would have to keep my two monitors. I would get a docking station, or maybe Matrox's product for multiple monitors. Dual Head or something like that.

You can shut your laptop lid, it will not cause problems. The XPS 1530 doesnt have any vents in the inner part of the laptop.
You will have to get a Matrox "Dual" or "Triple Video 2 go" in order to display information of two screens.
Matrox products are top of the line, they do cost a pretty penny, so look on ebay first before spending some $300-400 for one new.

I always shut my lid when using my external monitor, although I open it when doing anything system intensive to get better ventilation.

It's been a month or two since I kept up with monitors (they seem to release new models quite fast) but I hear the Samsung T series (220, 240, 260?) is good. Depends on what kind of display quality and price you want though...TN panels are cheaper, S-IPS/PVA are more expensive but better colour reproduction/viewing angles BUT slower response time so if you play games you might want TN blah blah yes it's kind of complicated :\
