    Ok..here's my story.

I have a gateway laptop with the Intel 950 graphics card (I know, it sucks). I have a 40" LCD hi-def TV that also funtctions as a monitor.

When I plug the monitor in to the VGA port on the laptop, the FN-F4 key does what it is supposed to do. Namely I can use the external monitor only, the internal lcd only, or both.

I can go into my bios using the 40" monitor and look at all my settings. I can even use the F8 key to select windows booting options. But as soon as I boot into windows the external monitor goes dark with no signal.

I can actually see the windows logo and the little blue scrolling lights indicating that windows is loading, then the monitor goes blank and nothing brings it back. Once I'm in Vista the FN-F4 key no longer works. Even though the built-in help in Vista says it should.

Any ideas? The external VGA port works fine until Vista loads, then it goes dead.

Yes, I tried that. But it still doesn't work. According to the manual I should at least have a mirrored display. But as soon as windows boots I get nothing.
