Well I've got a viewsonic VG150 LCD Monitor that I am trying to hook up to my laptop. I got it from work and it is tested to be functional. The problem is that the second I connect it to my lappys VGA Monitor out port, my computer shuts down and cannot power on while the cable is connected. I've used my VGA port successfully w/ other monitors and projectors w/o a problem. What could cause this to happen? by the way I tested the viewsonic w/ my desktop and it work fine.

I have an ATI 200m express video card dealy
    Thanks for your help!

what's your battery settings set to? Are you using it while your laptop is on battery or plugged into an ac adapter? Check your settings and configure accordingly.
