    Hi again,

Here's a follow up question about my HD upgrade plans... what to do with an 15GB HD after a new one is installed?

Well, my plan is to buy an external case and use it to back-up stuff or share/transport files. It's an old and slow (4200rpm) HD, but I think it can do that job. It has an Enhanced IDE interface (ATA-4) and supports DMA Mode 5.

I looked around and there are zillions of options, ranging from a few euros up to hundreds, so I don't know which one I should get.

Can I use any 2,5" case with IDE interface? Or is there anything I should look for?

All I need is a USB 2.0 interface. Better if power comes through USB so that I don't need to carry another cable...

    Thanks a lot!

Alot of them are standard IDE - with current ones with SATA as well - and they are really easy to buy, install and use.

Generic enclosures are cheap and effective, but if you want to spend some money, Vantec has an awesome line of enclosures.

Pretty much any 3.5 inch HD enclosure will do. Just make sure it is well built and allows for proper cooling of the HD.
