From what I've read, and I hope I'm right, esata does not have a power output, so external hard drives would need to connect 2 cables, one to USB for power, and the other for esata for data.

My notebook has a combo port for esata and USB, so isn't it possible for the external drive to get power and data from the single combo port? Or is it that the cable doesn't support it? If it's possible, where can I find such and enclosure?

Anyone know if this is what I'm looking for: Newegg.com - StarTech S2510PESAT Aluminum / Plastic 2.5" Silver USB2.0 & eSATA External Enclosure w/ OTB
