Hi, I have an HCL custom laptop. I am having a problem with my ehternet port

The ethernet port is imstalled on my laptop, but the driver is not installed and there is an exclamation mark on my device manager. THis is a windows XP.

I tried reintsalling, updating etc. etc. but nithing worked. The problem is...it is not using the internet to search for the driver, but is searching on the computer. I do not know how to find out which driver is needed for installation.

My Wi-fi is working and has a Intel PRO wireless network adapter, but it shows no network adapter for the ethernet port.

HELP!!! I'm in a desperate need to use the ethernet port as this bloody school does not have Wi-Fi.
