This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     but would it be possible to put flash memory in my laptop now
    like

    i could use an ide to flash adaptor

    Its probably been done already knowing my luck

    just seemed like a good idea

    my laptop would be lighter
    battery would last longer
    wouldn't have to worry as much if i bump it or knock it when its in my bag

    If someones done this please link me to the thread as i would be interested

    You mean an SSD instead of your IDE hard drive?

    If so, they make IDE SSDs.

    Yeah i just read somewhere that they weren't available till 2009
    Probably read it wrong though :O

    No they've been out quite some time now. Tho they are expensive, as in $500 for like 32gb.
