Quick question for any dv6000t owners out there. I'm looking at tossing 4 GB of RAM in my DV6000T series notebook, right now I have 2 GB but am running Windows Vista x64 and do a lot of heavy work so 4GB would be a great upgrade, but will it work correctly? I do have the BIOS update that states it fixes a BSOD with 2 2GB RAM modules installed... anyone out there that has tried this?

    Thanks,

Vista x64 with a Napa chipset will be able to recognize and use 4 GB no problem.

Yes, but will the laptop itself take 2x 2GB? I know when it first came out that it stated it would only take 2 GB maximum but the BIOS update seems to suggest otherwise.

lol wow that is a really ****ty version of BIOS if it can't handle 4 GB RAM on a Napa computer.

If the BIOS update says that it could run 4 GB, I don't see why you would doubt it. Your computer hardware and OS certainly isn't a problem.

I've also heard that the 945 GM chipset limits it to 3.25GB, is this true?

32 bit vista could only recognize 3GB RAM (3.25?). The chipset supports up to 4.
