    Hey everyone!
This may sound like a stupid question but.... How long does it take you to open Itunes on your notebook? The reason that I'm asking this is because I have a core duo PC and it takes a pretty long to open itunes and some other stuff.

Yeah, same here. It takes about 3-5seconds.

Same with some other things like Open Office, and WMP.

Maybe its the slow 5,400rpm HDD's we are using?

"Long time" is subjective. ;) It takes perhaps 7-9 seconds on my machine when I first boot up, then only a few seconds if I re-open it.

Yeah, that exactly what happens to mine... Chaz, what kind of processor are you using?

As my Biology professors says, "There is no such thing as a stupid question." :p

Yeah it can take a couple seconds. I think it depends on how much ram is currently in use, the speed of the hard drive, and possibly how many songs you have.

I don't think the processor matters that much when opening iTunes (mostly hard drive oriented, in which case I have a 100GB 7200RPM 8MB w/NCQ, Seagate), but for the record it is a Core 2 Duo T7600 (2.33GHz/4MB/667MHz). I have generally the same times on my Pentium M 750 (1.86GHz/2MB/533MHz) which has the same hard drive (except it is a Hitachi).

That's because I'm not using that machine right now. I edited my post with more info. The machine in my signature is my normal machine.
