I'm not sure if this is the right place to add the thread, but I have a Fujitsu S7020D, and I want to know if it's possible to have the laptop hooked to two lcds. I looked at the settings for the screen, and it does have 1, and 2 dual available. But what I really want is not to count the laptop screen as one monitor, but be able to close the laptop screen and use two lcds as you could with desktop.

Is it possible? If so, what would I need to purchase? Some techs told me that I'll need a splitter, some said the only way for that is that one of the lcd can convert to s-video, and the other for the external monitor slot, and some said it is not possible and that I'll have to use the laptop screen as one monitor.

Anyone really knows? or have done it with their laptop.. similiar to my Fujitsu S7020D specs?

Thanks in advance, I don't want to buy two lcds and end up knowing that it is not possible.

the notebook screen will always count as 1 of the screens and the 2nd one is for the the external vga connector.

so naturally, the notebook does not support the hookup of 2 external lcd monitors

possible solutions is to buy matrox's dualhead2go which allows two external monitors to be treated as one, but there are certain limitations such as vga only and a limit on the resolution, so you want to check out the limitations and its not cheap

another solution is to buy a usb video card but those are slow and expensive and rare

if you use s-video to connect tor a tv/monitor, the resolution will be lower than the lowest monitor setting of 800x600, so that is probably not something you want to do
