Does anyone know how to check if your drive is formated for Advanced Format?

Okay umm, I bought a Momentus XT and someone advised me to format the drive to NTFS using a Win 7 disc, then installing XP over it, so that it's able to take advantage of the Advanced Format which the Momentus XT utilizes.

I did as I was told:
    - Booted up through Win 7 (64-bit) CD
    - Formatted the drive to NTFS
    - Restarted and booted up using Win XP
    - Installed on the same drive without touching it

But I'm not entirely sure if it's working as it should. Does anyone know if I can check?

both W7 and XP would use 4K block(as that is the most natural and stable one). The only difference is W7 partition on 4K multiple boundary, XP doesn't. So if you have used W7, the partition are properly aligned thus would match the advanced format. Nothing to check.

Though I wonder why you want to go all the length and install a 10 years old OS on it.

no need to check. it just works. the win7 cd can't create non-aligned partitions.
