Yes that card must have a vBIOS.

Are you sure there is enough space for that card in an asus c90p?

I thought the c90p only has enough space for a type II card.

    That 3870 is type III.

It is definitely Type III so there shouldn't be enough space for it. Go for it though as we won't know for sure until you try. Two things are for certain though there is only 1 cm space between edge of a mxm II card and the CPU module so if the 3870 is more than a cm longer it won't fit. Secondly if it does fit then you will have to take the GPU out if you want to change the CPU and you will need to manufacture a new heatsink for the GPU.

Also be aware off the extra power draw and heat my 4670 already can kick out a fair bit of heat which I negate with my fan mod. The 3870 would really be absolutely pushing the limts of the GPU heatsink.

Yup it absolutely does. However to install a Q9xxx processor one has to flash the bios to the latest and greatest (0803) that asus didn't even publish officially lol. The Q8xxx quads work without bios update though.

I hope you give the 3870 a try! If MXM III cards can fit in the C90P then I plan further great things for my own :D
