I just bought a WD3200BEKT Western Digital 320GB Scorpio 2.5 Sata "Black Series" hard drive for my laptop... I own a Dell Latitude D630 and I want to swap HD's... I have a 80GB SATA-II Toshiba HDD2E24 7200RPM 16MB 9.5mm MK8051GSY in there now... (sorry I cant post links but I dont have 15 posts yet) So my question is do I need a new HD enclosure? I have never owned a laptop before this so I dont know about enclosures and all that... I know they are both 2.5'' SATA's.. so it should work but...? help?

You can use the one that's already in there.

The one that's in there doesn't look like a enclosure... it looks like it would be the HD itself.... It has a circuit board on the bottom... I figured that was the HD itself... not to mention the manufacturer sticker is on it... does the manufacturer make enclosures too?

If you are saying what I think you are saying, the "enclosure" (The silver thing screwed onto the external part of the hard drive?) is a caddy. Basically for mounting and sometimes silencing reasons. Should have 2-4 screws on the sides, phillips head, remove those, take out the old drive, put the new drive in, screw it in, pop it in the computer.

If you want to buy an external enclosure, you could transfer your files over or use Acronis TrueImage to copy your old hdd files instead of re-installing everything.
